  • What can I expect when I visit?

    Expect to be greeted warmly with some good old southern hospitality throughout your visit with us. We are a diverse congregation, coming from many different backgrounds and walks of life. You will find people of all ages coming together as the body of Christ to worship as family. We would be delighted to have you join us and become the newest member of our family.

  • What do I wear?

    There is no one set attire at Americus First United Methodist Church. Feel free to come as you like. Most people attending our traditional worship are dressed in attire that could be classified as business casual. At our contemporary worship and Arca del Fuego, you will see anything from shorts and a t-shirt to business casual.

  • What about my children?

    At Americus First, we love helping kids grow closer to Christ. During our traditional and contemporary worship we offer a Nursery and Children's Church for the youngest members of our congregation.

    In our nursery, your little ones will be played with and prayed for by our wonderful nursery staff. Children's Church is a worship experience designed for young ones with lessons, crafts, games, and a special prayer time.

    Nursery: 0-2 years old

    Children's Church: 3 years old-2nd Grade

Mission Statement

Our mission - to make disciples of Jesus Christ by reaching up, reaching in, and reaching out.

  • Reach up to God through worship.
  • Reach in through fellowship and Bible study.
  • Reach out to others through evangelism, mission, and service.

Our purpose:

  • To gather for worship, to give praise and thanksgiving;
  • To seek God's presence and guidance in our lives, and to strengthen each other in Christian fellowship and discipline;
  • To be a body of true believers who share the redeeming love of Jesus Christ;
  • To practice unity, love, and caring in the world so that the living Christ is revealed through us.
